Lovers of swing music and dancing now have a new opportunity to pursue their passion when they become charter members of the new RITZ BALLROOM SWING DANCE SOCIETY (RBSDS)! Founder Jeffrey C. Williams announces the formation of this new club dedicated to the memory of the legendary historic Black Rock, Bridgeport, dance venue.
Our kick-off event will be our late summer swing dance featuring the hot, longtime CT band, EIGHT TO THE BAR, at Fairfield University's Barone Campus Center.  Check back here for the date and time or call Jeffrey Williams at 203-726-7843.

Charter members will be offered soon to the RBSDS. Membership benefits will include club membership cards entitling members to $5.00 off door admission at all Connecticut dances and $25 off the admission to a yearly swing dinner dance with open bar at NYC's Edison Ballroom. In addition members  will receive a Ritz t-shirt, a copy of the book Home Of Happy Dancers - The Story of Bridgeport's Ritz Ballroom, and a certificate of membership.

Swing dancing, currently popular once again throughout the world especially by young enthusiasts, has long been of interest to those who seek active and social fun and healthy exercise to stay fit. Veteran dancers of today who went to the Ritz Ballroom as teen and twenty-year-olds still remember the swing music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman, while current, young contemporary dancers now enjoy the swing music of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Brian Setzer, Cherry Poppin' Daddies and Squirrel Nut Zippers.

All RBSDS events will feature live bands and with a discount available for students and seniors. For more information on our upcming summertime swing dance contact Jeffrey Williams at 203-726-7348 or email to jeffreycwilliams@msn.com .
